Vishal Ratkalkar MD, FACP, FASN believes in empowering his patients with the knowledge of their problems so that they can become active participants in their healthcare. He strongly believes in educating them on all aspects of their disease and the treatment options available. Dr. Ratkalkar has served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and as Associate Program Director of a residency program in Wisconsin prior to moving to Georgia. He continues to have a keen interest in keeping up with the current updates in Nephrology, and is a published expert in treating patients with kidney stones.
Dr. Vishal Ratkalkar is currently board-certified in Nephrology and certified in Internal Medicine in 2004. He completed his fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was the Chief Fellow, and did his residency at Raritan Bay Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. He is a Fellow with the American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology. He has been the author of several publications and has written two textbook chapters in the field of Nephrology, including a chapter about “Clinical Evaluation of Hematuria” and “Mechanism of Stone Formation” in reputed peer reviewed books.
